A different way to get the chrome look (no gaussian blur & lighting effects), this way looks more like it's been airbrushed, start with a black layer |

Make a new layer and draw the shape you want in mid grey, works best on thin wavy shapes. |

Apply the artistic/plastic wrap filter |

Now goto curves and set them something like this |

You should end up with this |

Now apply the curves again to darken the edges using these approximate settings |

Just knock the contrast up to finish it off |

Thats it, decent shiny looking chrome without having to resort to using the airbrush |
